A. Information on specific
Interaction sites
N-terminal domain of p53 interacts with RPA. (TOP)
RPA70N (1-221 aa) interacts with p53. RPA70C (411-492) interacts with p53.
Above RPA70 domains are potential binding sites for other proteins.
Zinc-finger motif in RPA70 is not needed for binding to p53, RPA34 or ssDNA.
p53 binds RPA70 by excluding ssDNA from the complex. (TOP)
“p53 does not inhibit ssDNA binding by RPA”.
“RPA is unable to complex with p53 in the presence of ssDNAs”.
RPA interacts with p53’s N-terminus and possibly C-terminus. (TOP)
First 73 aa of p53 is sufficient for interaction with RPA.
Residues 40-60 are the most critical for binding with RPA.
UV radiation inhibits RPA-p53 interaction. (TOP)
RPA70N interacts with p53. (TOP)
